Alarm panels (in-game label: Alarm Sounder Panel) are security devices in Deus Ex. They are used by hostile non-player characters to trigger an alarm that draws the attention of other hostiles.
Overview[]
Hostile NPCs will attempt to activate an alarm panel upon detecting the player. Similarly, neutral guards may activate an alarm panel if they see the player engaging in prohibited actions, such as breaking and entering a building or hacking an electronic device. Once activated, the panel's alarm will draw in other armed NPCs, along with robots (if any), to attack the player. Some alarm panels, when activated, will also activate an automated turret or trigger the release of hidden robots. It is also possible for an alarm panel to be triggered by a linked security camera or laser tripwire.
Alarm panels can be destroyed by the use of explosives or high-damage weapons such as a sniper rifle at master rifle skill. If bypassing them using a multitool the alarms can no long be activated directly by NPCs, however other linked alarms can activate a hacked alarm. If a hacked alarm panel is alerting it can be used to immediately stop all other linked alarms. If hit by EMP damage of any amount, alarm panels will be confused for 10 seconds, during which they are temporarily inoperative.

---|---|
