Bioelectric Energy (DXIW)

Bioelectric energy (or simply bio energy) is a gameplay resource in Deus Ex: Invisible War that is used to power the player's active augmentations.

Bio energy is the electrical energy that powers your biomods. You have internal bio energy “batteries” that must be recharged from an external source when your reserves become low. Bio energy can be recharged using repair bots or energy cells. Some biomods drain your bio energy far faster than others. Being hit with EMP attacks can also drain your bio energy rapidly.

Gameplay

Energy is used for all active and drone augmentations, but is not used not for passive augmentations and the pre-installed "light" augmentation. Active augmentations continuously drain energy on a per-second basis. Drone augmentations only use bio energy when the drone is used to perform an action, such as detonation or an attack.

Energy can be restored in the following ways:

• Consuming an energy cell. Each cell fully restores the player's bio energy.
• Use of a repair bot. Repair bots provide an inexhaustible supply of energy.
