The Classic .357 Magnum Revolver is a weapon and revolver variant in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. From a narrative perspective, it is the same weapon model that previously appeared in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and is the original version of the standard Mustang Arms .357 Magnum revolver commonly encountered in Mankind Divided.
Characteristics[]
The classic revolver has a unique appearance that differentiates it from the standard revolver, but is functionally similar to the standard revolver. Major differences from the standard revolver are as follows:
- The classic revolver can only use armor piercing (AP) rounds. Therefore, regular revolver rounds cannot be used on this weapon.
- The classic revolver has a higher nominal damage rating than the standard revolver. However, its damage has been observed to be approximately the same as that of an AP-equipped standard revolver at the same upgrade levels. Depending on the specific conditions, the classic revolver may perform a few percentage points better or worse than the standard revolver in damage output.[1]
- The classic revolver has a smaller magazine size (5 rounds, upgradable to 9 rounds) than that of the standard revolver (6 rounds, upgradable to 12 rounds).
- The classic revolver has a lower rate of fire and a lower accuracy than that of the standard revolver, based on nominal stats.
- The classic revolver has a slightly shorter maximum range (5 meters shorter) than that of the standard revolver.
Based on the weapon's nominal stats, it can be inferred that the classic revolver was intended to specialize in raw damage at the expense of other attributes. However, because it does not actually have the damage boost over the standard revolver that its nominal stats would suggest, it has few benefits over the standard revolver.

- The classic revolver and Otar's Revolver have the upgraded barrel of the explosive rounds kit from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but fire Armor Piercing bullets instead. "Diamond Back .357, MA-HEX20" is written above the barrel and "MA-HEX20, High Ex/Incendiary, Tracer" is written below the barrel.
