Derwin Jenkins is a minor character in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. He appears in the mission "Rescuing Megan and Her Team" during the beginning of Chapter 14.
Overview[]
Outside of storage unit 5 near the Omega Ranch, two Spec Op Soldiers can be found having a conversation with each other. If approached stealthily, Derwin can be heard mentioning that the commanding officer (Jaron Namir) is on the premises. The alternate soldier asks how he is aware of this, Derwin states that Walrond (another Spec Ops Soldier) told him he saw Namir speaking to Zhao Ru. The alternate soldier tells Derwin that he thinks she was "barking" orders at him again, mentioning the captured scientists and asks who was headlining. Derwin tells his colleague that things would've been easier if Hugh Darrow was still on the premises however stated he best go back on patrol unless Namir surprises the two with an inspection. After this the two will split, with Derwin going back to the storage building on patrol.
If Derwin is stealthily subdued/terminated, he will drop a pocket secretary. On it will be a message from Lt Cdr Kaspar Donato which not only reveals his name but reveals the barrack's dormitory code including an angry message from Kaspar telling Derwin not to forget the code.
Trivia[]
- Derwin will not check Adam Jensen's XNG Shipping vessel, even when its been previous open. He will not be alerted by it or show any emotion to its existence.
- Derwin will not drop ammunition for his Combat Rifle.
- Despite his name clearly being "Derwin Jenkins", the game still lists him as "Spec Ops Soldier".
