The Elite Edition Battle Rifle is a variant of the Model 762 Battle Rifle. It is a weapon provided by the Assault Pack add-on for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
Characteristics[]
The Elite Edition is functionally similar to the standard battle rifle, but takes up less inventory space and has modified weapon properties:
- Nominal damage is slightly higher (+5 higher) than the standard battle rifle. However, actual damage per shot is the same as that of the standard battle rifle.[1]
- Accuracy is lower than the standard battle rifle (-15 lower).
- Actual rate of fire is much lower than the standard battle rifle, contrary to what the nominal weapon stats suggest. The Elite Edition has an nominal rate of fire of 30 (which can be upgraded to 45), which is higher than the standard battle rifle's nominal rate of fire of 25 (which cannot be upgraded). In actuality, the standard battle rifle's rate of fire is about 3 times higher than that of the Elite Edition's base rate of fire.
- Even when the Elite Edition is fully upgraded (to a nominal value of 45), its actual rate of fire is still slower than that of the standard battle rifle.
- Recoil is much lower. The lower recoil, combined with the lower actual rate of fire, means that overall recoil when firing in quick succession is low.
- Maximum range is slightly higher (85 meters, rather than the standard battle rifle's 80 meters).
Similar to the standard battle rifle, the Elite Edition is a versatile semi-automatic rifle that can function as a mid-range weapon (especially with a holosight installed), or as a sniper rifle when a scope is attached. However, it shares the standard version's drawback of not being able to mount a silencer, making it unsuitable for stealth-oriented tactics at the mid range or closer.
Acquisition[]
- Provided by the Assault Pack add-on.
Notes[]
- As with the other elite edition weapons, this weapon is distinct from its base variant for inventory management purposes. Therefore, picking up a standard battle rifle will not convert it into ammo, but will place it into the inventory as a separate weapon. Since battle rifle ammo is commonly found on the weapon itself, it may be convenient to also carry a standard battle rifle for ease of ammo pickup.
