It is worth noting that the GEP gun does not benefit much from training the Heavy Weapons skill. At Untrained, it is accurate enough, since you'll usually be using it on unaware targets, and it will lock on to targets to boot. It will destroy any target in one shot, except military mechs, which require two hits. However, even at Master level, the only real benefit is that you can destroy heavy mechs in one shot. The additional move speed is also rarely of consequence, as you will probably pull it out, fire it, and then put it away again anyway. Your points are probably much better spent elsewhere.

The Guided Explosive Projectile (GEP) gun is a rocket-firing weapon capable of locking onto targets. It can be reloaded, which gives it a major advantage over the LAW. It must be reloaded after every shot, so users should be in a safe spot before firing.

Very few enemies use it, but Paul will offer it to you at the start of the game. If you don't get it from him, you can find it at one of the security towers in the airfield.
