Biography[edit | edit source]
Gordon Quick and his triad provide safe harbor and an operating base for Tracer Tong. According to Gordon, Paul Denton earned his trust by working with the Luminous Path. Likewise, JC Denton must also earn Gordon's trust before he can enter the Luminous Path compound.
Gordon tells JC that the Triads are at war, thanks to Maggie Chow. A Dragon's Tooth Sword was stolen from the Red Arrow Triad, and Chow manipulated the Triads into war by blaming the Luminous Path. After JC finds the sword and restores peace between the two Triad groups, Quick admits him to the Luminous Path compound to finally meet with Tong.
Description[edit | edit source]
Interactions[edit | edit source]
- When JC first enters the Wan Chai Market, Gordon Quick is seen ordering a boy named Louis Pan to pester the news stand vendor to get her to pay the Luminous Path a regular fee to keep in business. Speaking with Gordon obtains the primary goal, "Find and examine the Dragon's Tooth sword as proof regarding whether or not Maggie Chow is telling the truth."
- After peace is restored, Quick and Max Chen will invite JC for drinks at the Lucky Money. If JC talks to the men repeatedly, they will take turns to offer JC increasingly more impressive wines.
- Gordon Quick is an invincible character until he appears at the Lucky Money when the Triads declare peace. Killing Gordon does not affect the story.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- A sub-plot removed from the final release of Deus Ex was Gordon's love for the daughter of Max Chen. While cut, it is still referenced to in his diary, in the Luminous Path compound.
