JC Denton's Sanctuary is a location in Antarctica, where JC Denton is kept in stasis after his imperfect merge with the Helios AI.
Background[]
After JC Denton merges with Helios in 2052, defects in JC's nanite architecture result in an imperfect merge and turmoil between JC's mind and Helios. After JC reveals his ideology of equality for all to his brother Paul and Tracer Tong, his allies transport him to Antarctica to keep him alive and hidden in peace until the nanite architecture is improved for full compatibility. It is here that Helios and JC construct a sanctuary around an abandoned VersaLife base, a living technological building infused with JC's psyche, which only those with the same DNA as JC can access.
Afterwards, JC falls into a prolonged partial coma and Helios' power is divided into five parts called Helios processing modules, four describing an echo of an important event in JC's memories and three protected by grays. In 2072, Alex Denton enters JC Denton's Sanctuary with the perfected nanite architecture in order to allow the JC and Helios merge to be completed. After JC Denton and Helios are one, they eventually abandon the sanctuary in preparation for their plans to begin a post-human civilization.
