Jordan Shea is the bartender of the Underworld Tavern in New York City Hell's Kitchen in 2052.

Biography[]

Jordan Shea was once a UNATCO agent, but left under the guise of "mental fatigue." After leaving UNATCO, she became the bartender at the Underworld Tavern in Hell's Kitchen.

In truth, her mechanical augmentations were old and out of date. She was not discharged, but instead put on extended leave such that Joseph Manderley could call on her in emergencies. As a result, Jordan got to keep her augmentations for civilian use, while Manderley could still rely on her as an informant.

Description[]

When Jordan left UNATCO, she gave “mental fatigue” as the reason. The truth was that her augs were old and out of date. She wasn’t actually discharged, per se, but put on extended leave. It’s a compromise. Manderley can call on her for emergencies, Jordan gets to keep her augs (which are useful in civvie life, too), and Jaime doesn’t have to make a regular human out of a cyborg (which is under-researched, to say the least). Everybody wins.

Jordan runs the Underworld bar in Hell’s Kitchen like a guardian angel. It’s the exact opposite of her former UNATCO life, and she likes it that way. There are no weapons allowed, for instance. Pull one and she’ll blow you away. Everyone’s safe for a few hours, can say what they want and can be who they are. it’s not a fern bar and it’s not a dive. The hookers are there to unwind, just like everyone else.

Jordan Shea can be found in her tavern with during each of the three visits to Hell's Kitchen. Jordan still harbors a degree of cynicism towards UNATCO. If JC Denton mentions that he is "in the business." Jordan then retorts with an unimpressed remark, wishing him an insincere good luck with his "business." Jordan allows JoJo Fine's associates to search for potential Ambrosia customers within her bar. She also keeps a sawed-off shotgun below the bar and will use the weapon if JC violates the bar's no weapons rule (as displayed on a sign at both exits of the bar).

Conversations[]

Conversing with her often reveals information about the current situation in the area.

  • During the first visit to Hell's Kitchen, JC can learn about Jordan's background as a former UNATCO agent. If asked for possible leads to the NSF generator, Jordan will point JC to the warehouse district.
  • During the second visit to Hell's Kitchen, Jordan will inform JC that UNATCO is about to raid the 'Ton Hotel. When asked about why UNATCO is conducting the raid, Jordan will say that she knows who Paul is, and tell JC to leave the city.
  • During the third visit to Hell's Kitchen, Jordan will inform JC that Gunther Hermann has been looking for him. If JC tells Jordan about his desire to meet Stanton Dowd, she will report this to UNATCO, who will send a thug to shadow JC on the streets. (The thug will also appear if Joe Greene learns about JC's desire to find Dowd). If the thug catches sight of Stanton Dowd, he will open fire and signal in a bunch of MJ12 troopers to attack. If Jordan was previously killed, Vinny will remark that "Someone wasted the bartender. Drinks are free."

Trivia[]

  • Jordan Shea was originally written to be a male character, as documented in Majestic Revelations design document v6.4. By the time of design document v13.12, the character was revised to be female. Reflecting the earlier design, a developer comment in conversation data of the released game refer to Jordan as male.[1]
  • The same developer comment also notes that Jordan is a UNATCO support and knows that JC has left UNATCO,[1] explaining the intention behind triggering the appearance of the thug if Jordan is aware that JC is looking for Stanton Dowd.
  • In prerelease design documents, Jordan is nicknamed "Mixer." This nickname does not appear in the final game.
