| — Kim threatens Jensen. | ||||
Kim is an unique minor character in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. He appears briefly in the mission: "Searching for Proof".
Overview[]
Inside the Pangu, if the player saves Tai Yong employee "Lee" from the recent accident, he'll inform Adam Jensen of his friend Kim and how he should allow him through if he mentioned Lee due to Kim owing Lee a favor. When approached, Jensen will mention Lee & his favor, which causes Kim to oblige Jensen and give him access to the machine control area, Whenever interacted with he'll mention how he looked similar to one of the scientists "test subjects"
If the player doesn't save Lee then they have three options. The first involves threatening Kim, which ends up in Kim attacking the player. The second involves Jensen bribing Kim of 500 credits, however is given limited access to the machine control area and should insult/threaten Jensen whenever interacted with. The first & final option involved lying & bluffing Kim, mentioning that there was a gas leak. Essentially Jensen uses Lee's current situation for his own little lie to gaslight Kim into giving access which does work, but like the previous option he's only given limited access to the area.
Trivia[]
- Despite his name being "Kim" his NPC model lists him as "Security Guard".
- Interestingly, Kim didn't hear the explosion where Lee was located. This is due to him being distracted on his Soloto cellphone.
