Light is a pre-installed, non-upgradable augmentation in Deus Ex. JC Denton is equipped with this nanotechnological augmentation at the start of the game.
Description[]
Bioluminescent cells within the retina provide coherent illumination of the agent's field of view.
Effects[]
When activated, the Light augmentation emits light in the manner of a flashlight, allowing the user to navigate dark areas more easily. When activated, it drains bioelectric energy at a rate of 10 units/minute.
Use of this ability can compromise stealth.
Notes[]
- Other sources of light include flares, the mini-crossbow's flare darts, and the Dragon's Tooth sword. Similar to the augmentation, these light sources can compromise stealth.
- Alternatives that do not compromise stealth include the night vision provided by tech goggles or the Vision Enhancement augmentation.
