Background[edit | edit source]
The earliest mention of Luminuous Path dates back to 2010s. In 2018, then-established Triad groups engaged into a violent conflict, the so-called "Mark Gor Lau War", which weakened those Triads. In the aftermath of those events, the leadership passed to Luminous Path, Red Arrow and other newly empowered groups.
Events of Deus Ex[edit | edit source]
In 2052, JC Denton helps Luminous Path and Red Arrow end hostilities by uncovering the conspiracy behind the theft of the non-eutactic blade, stolen from Red Arrow labs by Majestic 12 operative Maggie Chow.
JC Denton also gets his killswitch deactivated by Tracer Tong after gaining the trust of Gordon Quick. Tracer Tong then gives JC the task of infiltrating the VersaLife laboratories and retrieving a ROM module needed for the Triads to mass-produce the non-eutactic blade.
Afterwards, JC is tasked with obtaining the schematic of the Gray Death virus particle and data on the molecular structure of the Ambrosia vaccine from level 2 labs, which also houses the Universal Constructor. The Constructor is subsequently destroyed by JC, on the advice of Daedalus. Among the data retrieved, Tong finds connections between the shipment of the virus heading for New York City and the Illuminati.
In the end, it is revealed that Helios, in an effort to demonstrate its capabilities, declares the triads of Hong Kong illegal and, as Paul Denton explains, locks the compound of the Luminous Path. The group's fate is not known, but it is assumed it fades as the world plunges into The Collapse.
In the second visit to Hell's Kitchen, on the footpath across the Underworld Tavern, slightly to the right next to a trash bin, a newspaper can be read saying that the Luminous Path Triad attacked the Lucky Money Club.
