Metal crates in the underground path leading to the LaGuardia Airport
Metal Crates are game environment objects in Deus Ex. Unlike other types of crates, metal crates are indestructible. Metal crates typically serve the role of being movable objects that either block a path or can be repositioned by the player to reach elevated areas.
Types[]
Three types of metal crates exist: small (CrateUnbreakableSmall), medium (CrateUnbreakableMedium), and (CrateUnbreakableLarge). All three types are simply labeled "Metal Crate" in the in-game object label, but have varying properties as shown below:

As a result of the mass ratings, by the default, the player can only lift the small metal crate, and push up to the medium metal crate. With the use of the Microfibral Muscle augmentation, it becomes possible to push or lift larger crates.
