Phosphorous flares are found in Deus Ex: Invisible War, the equivalent to flares in Deus Ex. Once activated, flares produce light. They are no different than regular flares, but now they can be picked up and thrown with Unreal Engine 2 Physics, as opposed to the first game where they could only be dropped a short distance ahead of the player.
