Remote Hacking is an experimental augmentation introduced in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Using a small amount of energy, Adam Jensen can now hack certain objects from afar.
Occasionally, the energy usage on high-tier objects (e.g. walker bots) isn’t "small" and is actually closer to medium.
Description[]
- The Remote Hacking augmentation is used in conjunction with the MHD-995 Hacking Device and the InfoLink Communications augmentation. It allows the user to wirelessly hack electronic devices from a distance.

Environmental Domination[]
- The Environmental Domination sequencer pings nearby connections of smart world objects, displaying them as yellow dots in the heads-up display. It then allows the user to hack into these devices remotely and permits simple activation and deactivation of root commands.
- At this rate, the augmentation is incapable of interacting with security objects, since these are fortified with enough security protocols to immediately reject foreign connections.

- The Security Domination sequencer allows users to connect to and override security protocols, allowing users to temporarily disable high-security hardware like cameras, turrets, and robots.

- Remote Hacking is great for taking down drones, turning off laser grids, hacking cars. It can also be use to hack hidden ladders, canopy, industrial fans, Palisade parking lot gas controller, electromagnetic windows, radios and TVs. Even objects that are far away and seen by Smart Vision are hackable.
- Remote Hacking does not work on computers or security panels.
- Focus Enhancement makes hacking high-tier objects easier by slowing down the cursor.
- Remote Hacking accepts Stop! Worm Software and Nuke Virus Software. Stop! Worm Software gives an extra five seconds. Nuke Virus Software only eliminates one firewall instead of capturing the target instantly.
- Remote Hacking also adds an undocumented tool: visual timer of stunned objects such as cameras. Even without Security Domination or by using different method such as TESLA-ing a camera, the timer still shows up.
- Security cameras disabled by this augment can be destroyed without causing an alarm, although guards with hearing distance will still react to the noise. Destroyed cameras don't arouse suspicion if found by guards, so a combination of remote hacking and a silenced pistol can be used to make moving around much easier.
- While remotely hacking objects, Jensen may still move and use/deactivate some augmentations such as cloaking.
