Rucker's Evidence is a story item and pocket secretary in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The item is found during the main mission M7: The Rucker Extraction. Although the item is added to the database as a story item, it behaves like a standard pocket secretary in some respects. When first read as a pocket secretary, the title of the message is "Green Light."
Description[]
This pocket secretary contains evidence which Rucker believed could prove ARC's innocence. The email on it reads:
SPOKE TO H.K.
PHASE 1 IS GO.
DEL'VR ORCHID ASAP THEN MAINT'N COVR.
REST OF CELL ON STDBY.
ADD.L ORDRS TO FLLW.

Explanation[]
The message is signed by "JM" (Joseph Manderley) and is an assassination order instructing the recipient of the message, who is part of a "cell" of agents embedded within ARC, to move forward with the deployment of the Orchid, the substance that would kill Talos Rucker.
The phrase "spoke to H.K." refers to a conversation between Manderley and Bob Page in which Page instructed Manderley to issue the orders for Rucker's assassination. Adam Jensen would later discover a recording of this conversation. The recording indicates that Manderley was to give the assassination order to their "man inside ARC."
Acquisition[]
The item is found in the locked room of Talos Rucker's office. The locked room is opened by a keycard that is either given by Talos Rucker (if the debate was completed successfully) or obtained on his desk.
Use[]
After returning from Golem City, the pocket secretary can be given to Jim Miller, Alex Vega, or neither.
- If given to Miller (during the conversation after returning from Golem City), nothing will come of it.
- If given to Vega (during M9: Checking Out the Men in Charge), Vega will provide you with a keycode in one of the final missions of the game.
- If given to neither, nothing will come of it.
Pocket secretary transcript[]
Unlike standard pocket secretaries, this item is specially labeled as "Rucker's Evidence" (rather than "Pocket Secretary") in the interact prompt. The item is read like a pocket secretary when first picked up, but is added to the database as a story item rather than a pocket secretary message.
When first picked up and read like a pocket secretary, the message title "Green Light" is visible, as well as the following fields:
- To: [UNKNOWN RECIPIENT]
- From: [UNKNOWN SENDER]
The main text of the email is the same as the story item description, except for a minor discrepancy in that the story item description recites "ADD.L" whereas the pocket secretary transcript recites "ADD,L".
