Sandra Renton is the daughter of Gilbert Renton, the owner and operator of the run-down "'Ton Hotel" located in Hell's Kitchen.

Biography[]

Due to the 'Ton's declining profits, Sandra was tasked with maintaining the hotel in place of paid employees while her father works reception. Sandra did not want her father running her life,[1] so she left the 'Ton[2] and went to work for local thug and NSF operative, JoJo Fine. After a week, Sandra sought to escape from her work with the local thugs.[3][4] However, while trying to make her way to the secret entrance to Smuggler's hideout[5] she was cornered by Johnny, one of JoJo Fine's pimps.

Description[]

When given the choice between living in a dim and dusty old hotel run by her overprotective father or out on the streets where everything feels alive and real, if dangerous, Sandra Renton chose the streets. She may not really be happy with her current career choice and her bad taste in men, but at least she's not rotting in an overstuffed chair in front of the TV. There's unhappy, and there's unhappy. She's chosen the right one for her, so feeling sorry for her won't get you anywhere.

Sandra is a good source for "word on the street." She's not as professionally mercenary as Harley Filben, and will usually talk to anyone who does her a good turn, or talks to her like she's a real person. She might not know where every secret panel or grate leads to, but she's a people person, and has a good idea who's doing what, and usually where and why.

Missions[]

  • 2nd Mission - Hell's Kitchen: Sandra appears in Hell's Kitchen and her fate depends upon the actions of JC Denton. JC arrives shortly before Johnny attempts to kill Sandra for refusing to comply with his demands. If JC does not intervene, Sandra will be killed. However, should JC rescue Sandra, she will provide information pertaining to the location of Smuggler's lair in return for assisting her and will also appear in later missions.
    • If Sandra's friend Janey is spoken to in the Underworld tavern, Janey will start the optional objective of rescuing Sandra.
    • If the player did not meet Sandra before the 7th mission, she will be in the Tavern.
  • 4th Mission - Hell's Kitchen: If Sandra she was previously rescued by JC, she will appear inside the 'Ton hotel prior to the UNATCO raid.
    • If Gilbert and Sandra are both alive, the two will have a confrontation with JoJo Fine. If Gilbert receives a weapon from JC, inflicts any amount of damage on JoJo, and survives the encounter, then Sandra will stay with her father at the 'Ton hotel. Otherwise, she will leave town and head to head to Eugene, Oregon.
    • If Gilbert previously died, Sandra instead has a conversation with JoJo Fine, who tells her to leave the hotel. In this case, Sandra will not make a further appearance in the later missions.
    • The confrontation can be avoided by either entering from the window leading to Paul's room or entering from the front and then heading to Paul's room (briefly encountering the spawning JoJo) before JoJo becomes hostile. The latter will cause JoJo's corpse to be there during the raid but both Rentons will have despawned alive.
  • 7th Mission - Hell's Kitchen: If Sandra decided to stay with her father after her encounter with JoJo at the 'Ton, she will appear at the Underworld tavern when JC goes to Hell's Kitchen to meet Stanton Dowd. She's there to meet her old highschool friend, a marine named Vinny, who will offer JC a chance to slip into the Brooklyn Naval Shipyards. Sandra assures JC that Vinny is trustworthy.
  • 11th Mission - Abandoned Gas Station: If Sandra decided to leave New York, she will appear at the Abandoned Gas Station in a camp with two bums. If spoken to, She will tell JC how she got there: "I was hitching a ride to Eugene and this jerk pulls a gun on me, takes everything I have, and dumps me on the side of the road."
