Security Computer Terminals, also known as security computers or security terminals,[1] are interactable objects in Deus Ex. Security computers typically control security cameras, doors, and turrets.
Overview[]
Similar to personal computer terminals, security computers are accessed either by correctly entering the login information (username and password) or by hacking. JC Denton must have his computer skill at "trained" or better in order to unlock the ability to hack computers. Once the computer is logged in or hacked, the player will be able to access the security features on the terminal.
The functionalities of controlling doors and security cameras, if available, are always usable by the player regardless of computer skill. Upon reaching the advanced level in computer skill, the player gains the ability to set the targeting parameters of automated turrets to "Allies", "Enemies", "Bypassed" (inactive), or "Everything."
