Senjin Braeden was the son of Eldrin Braeden, a German who protested the WTO's takeover of the world economy in 2052. Little is revealed about Senjin's origins, other than that his family was very powerful prior to the Collapse, but journal entries left behind in Der Blutende Rabe in Trier (and in a sewer near the Black Gate ruins) reveals that by August 30th, 2053, Braeden and his cousins Falen, Sheets, and Lir had suffered a setback after his brother Kaleb defected to the WTO.
