Shot is the most common damage type in Deus Ex. Shot damage is caused by many weapons, including firearms, lethal melee weapons, and certain types of darts. "Shot" is an internal name that only appears in game files.
Special properties[]
- The amount of shot damage that is received by the player character (JC Denton) scales with the difficulty level. This property is shared with the "AutoShot" damage type.
Resistance[]
- Robots receive only 25% of incoming shot damage.
- Resistance is provided by Ballistic Armor and the Ballistic Protection augmentation.

The following weapons inflict shot damage. Some weapons inflict shot damage only for specific types of ammunition, as indicated below.
- Low-tech skill weapons

Notes[]
- Prima's guide for Deus Ex: The Conspiracy (the PS2 port of the original Deus Ex game) appears to refer to shot damage as "impact" damage. However, the name "impact" does not appear in either Prima's guide for the original Deus Ex or the original game itself.
