A Silencer is a Weapon Mod in Deus Ex: Invisible War. Silencers muffle the sound of a weapon firing. Silencers are by far the most useful mod in the game, as they allow the player to kill enemies from afar without the danger of alerting others, The Silencer can be used effectively on any possible weapon, though it is especially useful on the Sniper Rifle, as the player is vulnerable between shots, and hiding is necessary. Silencers aren't that rare in Invisible War (there are about 6, with the first 4 found in Seattle).
