Stana Tomasek is a character mentioned in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. She has a fourth-level apartment at the northeast side of Market Square in Čistá Čtvrť. Her wedding photograph is a story item found on her desk near the computer, whose password is the date "May 2020" written on the back of the photograph.

Biography

Stana's husband Selvan died during the Aug Incident. Stana still mourns her loss, writing to a friend that she finds herself "sitting here alone surrounded by so many memories."

After her husband's death, Stana became an alcoholic. She is a customer of Hemingway's Fine Spirits, where she has recently purchased a large amount of alcohol, but has been unable to keep up with her payments. Also as a result of her husband's legal death, Stana received access to her husband's safe in the Palisade Property Bank.

Cut content

A cut pocket secretary message would have indicated that Selvan did not actually die in the Aug Incident, but merely used the Aug Incident to fake his death. The message also reveals that Selvan now has another life and another family, and that he faked his death in order to hide this truth to Stana:

“

My dearest Stana,

I am not dead as you believe me to be. But I am a coward. As you can see I was never completely honest with you, but I intend to start here, now, with this letter. Stana, I used the Incident to hide the truth from you that I have another life; that I have another family. I know that living with the truth that I am alive may be harder than living with the lie that I was dead, but... Stana, I want you to move on. Forget me. I never wanted to hurt you, I just something something blah blah blah...

The cut pocket secretary has an internal filename with the label "selvan_vip_safe," indicating that it may have been originally planned to appear in Selvan's bank safe, whose code is revealed by an email on Stana's computer. However, the pocket secretary does not appear in-game, and the phrase "blah blah blah" (which appears in many instances of unused content in the game files) suggests that it was not completed by the developers.
