It has an integral silencer and uses the same 10mm ammunition as the regular pistol. == Description == ==Characteristics== Compared to the regular 10mm pistol, the stealth pistol has lower base damage (8 base damage as compared to 14 for the regular pistol), but offers the advantages of an integral silencer, a lower base recoil, higher rate of fire, and a faster reload time. Two headshots are needed to take down common troopers at the trained and advanced skill levels. However, the stealth pistol's high rate of fire and low recoil allows for consecutive headshots with reasonable ease. Common troopers can be taken down in a single headshot once master skill level has been attained. MJ12 Commandos will require two headshots at master level. The stealth pistol's low base recoil (0.10) is entirely negated by the pistol skill, which begins at the trained level. Therefore, the stealth pistol will have zero recoil when it is first available to the player. The benefit of zero recoil is particularly useful in conjunction with the laser modification, which provides perfect accuracy when the laser pointer is turned on. Therefore, the laser modification not only negates the stealth pistol's low base accuracy, but also transforms it into a perfectly accurate weapon that is recoilless and rapid-firing. The stealth pistol is compatible with the scope modification, which can enhance the weapon's long-range capabilities. However, the scope modification will negate the accuracy benefit of the laser modification and will also prevent the weapon from having perfect accuracy when fired outside of scope mode, even if a 100% nominal accuracy has been attained through a combination of weapon skill and accuracy modifications. ==Notes== * The stealth pistol is not necessarily redundant to the regular pistol. Since the scope modification is detrimental to accuracy in non-scoped mode, one possible approach is to specialize one of the two pistols for sniping with the scope, and leave the other without a scope for use in close-range combat. * Both the regular and stealth pistols draw from the same ammo source. Therefore, if both weapons are kept, overzealous use of the stealth pistol can deprive ammo for the regular pistol. == Acquisition == * Given by Sam Carter during the first visit to the UNATCO Headquarters. *Found on the second floor of the armor in the Secret MJ12 Lab. *Found in Sam Carter's armory during the escape from UNATCO. *Carried by the door girl at the Lucky Money club in Hong Kong. *On the base of the MJ12 hand statue in the VersaLife Level 1 Labs. *Carried by the gate keep of the Lower East Side Cemetery. *In Adept 34501's room in the Knights Templar Cathedral. *Carried by the odd mechanic in Morgan Everett's Home. *In the Ocean Lab, in the left locker in the SW room of Crew Module Deck One (the lower deck) ==Trivia== *The weapon features a bullpup design—highly unusual for a handgun—placing the trigger and grip near the muzzle and the action and magazine at the very rear. While bullpup designs are usually used in long arms, it allows for usage of a longer barrel in any weapon, even one as a compact as a pistol. *The stealth pistol resembles the fictional Seburo CX "Compact eXploder" that appears in many works of the manga artist Masamune Shirow, such as Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed. *In the unreleased v1.0 version of the game, the stealth pistol was able to take recoil weapon mods. ==Gallery== <gallery> File:Silencedpistol 1.png|Holding the Stealth Pistol File:DX Stealth Pistol 1st person model.png|First-person model File:DX Stealth Pistol Inventory Icon.png|Inventory icon </gallery> Weapons pl:Pistolet z tłumikiem
