TNT crates on Liberty Island in the first mission
TNT crates are world objects in Deus Ex. Unlike other types of crates, TNT crates will explode upon being destroyed, a property that is shared with certain types of barrels.

TNT crates are very fragile, having only 4 HP.[1] Due to the manner in which falling damage is calculated for Decoration-class objects, which include TNT crates, throwing a TNT crate while standing up will typically result in the destruction of the crate due to falling damage.
Explosions from TNT crates have a base explosion damage of 300 (of the "Exploded" damage type) and a blast radius of 800 units.[1] This blast radius is significantly larger than those of LAMs (384 units) and GEP Gun normal rockets (192 units) and may inadvertently result in damage to the player when a TNT crate is destroyed.
