Stunning the bomb[]
The article states the bomb can be stopped with the Icarus landing system stun or a gas grenade, can anyone verify this?
- Confirmed, using the ILS disables the bomb, however it doesn't grant the Lucky Guess achievement. All grenades except concussion also disable the bomb, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uomXX2gJURQ 190.17.8.230 20:18, April 21, 2012 (UTC)
Auto-Bomb-Disarm[]
On my quite complete first run of the game I missed this achievement, because the two times I attacked the bomber (pacifist mode, stun or tranquilizer), I directly and automatically disarmed the bomb. That did make me wonder, but I ignored it. I had guessed I was too fast for the bomber to set off the bomb... no idea.
Now trying to get the achievement and actually try to disarm the bomb. Just mentioning this in case someone else wondered why the achievement was missed. — AEon (talk) 21:34, August 25, 2012 (UTC)
- Update: No matter what I do taking the east or the west entrance to the sewer you have to pass the mines. I usually throw something like an EMP grenade or gas grenade, and toss some barrels. As soon as I get near enough to the bomber, the bomb sub-quest is automatically successfully ended. I never get to the point where I could disarm the bomb. It is almost as if setting off the mines knocks out the bomb... I finally learned to "Walk"+Crouch to deactivate the mines. This seem to deativate the bomb even more quickly and automatically. Any ideas? Thanks. — AEon (talk) 22:09, August 25, 2012 (UTC)
- Update II: In my second quick-run (Ghost, Smooth Operator, Pacifist) I skipped most side quests but this one. This time the bomb was not automatically deactivated. Strange: I had expected it to automatically start forcing the player to quickly deactivate it. Well I entered "0000" and also as a test hacked it. No problems, and got the Achievement "Lucky Guess" (for the former method). Looks like a rare bug. — AEon (talk) 11:08, August 28, 2012 (UTC)
