The D Project is a secret achievement/trophy in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It is unlocked after beating the game, watching the entire credits and listening to the conversation between Morgan Everett, Bob Page and Megan Reed.

This achievement can only be obtained by watching the entire credits sequence at the end of the game. It will not be granted for watching the credits from the main menu screen.

Transcript[]

Bob Page: "You worry too much, Morgan. There’s nothing we can’t manage, given time."

Bob Page: "She’s here, I have to cut this short. Keep going through the wreckage.[1] Maybe we'll find something we can use for the Morpheus Initiative."[2]

Bob Page: "Come in."

Bob Page: "Doctor Reed! We’re so pleased you decided to join us."

Megan Reed: "Where else could I go?"

Bob Page: "No regrets, my dear. As Ariadne told Theseus before he entered the Minotaur’s labyrinth: Always forward... never left or right. ... You’ll be very interested in our current project. We're breaking new ground."

Megan Reed: "Yes... The nanite-virus chimera[3] is quite intriguing. I’m looking forward to seeing the hybrid project up close, Mr. Page."

Bob Page: "And so you shall. But please. Call me Bob."

Notes[]

  • In the Deus Ex series, the letter "D" has been used to refer to "Denton," such as in the case of Alex Denton, who is referred to as "Alex D" during the initial part of Deus Ex: Invisible War. The achievement icon shows an image of JC Denton, who, along with Paul Denton, was developed by Majestic 12 as one of the first nanotechnologically augmented agents. The Deus Ex Continuity Bible describes the development of the Dentons as a "nano-augmentation project." In the project, Paul was specifically picked (as a child) by Majestic 12 due to his genes being "the most suitable for the nano-augmentation project" (see the article on Paul Denton) from which his clones JC and Alex were eventually born. JC was born in 2028, shortly after the ending of Human Revolution.
  • The "D-Project" (spelled with a hyphen) is also mentioned in the novels Deus Ex: Icarus Effect and Deus Ex: Black Light as a project that the Illuminati has been working on. The context in which it is mentioned in Icarus Effect indicates that this project was in the works no later than the time between the prologue and the first mission of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
  • After the dialogue in the cinematic, the Title Theme of the original Deus Ex will play, suggesting that what just transpired was prologue to that game.
  1. "Wreckage" refers to the wreckage of Panchaea. In an email on the Picus corporate vault computer in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Page states that sensitive equipment was sunk with Panchaea.
  2. The first part of the conversation mentions the "Morpheus Initiative." In another email, Page and Everett discuss using technology developed for the E.L.I.Z.A. program as a starting point for the "M Initiative."
  3. "Nanite-virus chimera" appears to be a reference to the design of nanoviruses such as the Gray Death. According to the Deus Ex Continuity Bible, the Gray Death is a nanovirus that uses a virus-based shell to house nanites.
