Weapon modifications (DX)

In Deus Ex, eight different weapon modifications are available. Each one either improves a weapon's attribute or adds an extra feature to the weapon. Not every modification is compatible with each weapon, as shown below.

Weapon modifications

Attribute-upgrading modifications can be installed up to 5 times on a compatible weapon. Modifications that add a weapon feature can only be installed once.

	Modification	Summary of Actual Effects
Attribute Upgrades
	Accuracy	Each upgrade increases accuracy by 10% of the difference between base accuracy and 100% accuracy.
	Clip	Each upgrade increases clip size by +1 (+3 for the assault rifle).
	Reload	Each upgrade reduces the duration of the main phase (middle portion) of the reload animation by 10%.
	Range	Each upgrade increases the accurate range of hitscan weapons by 10% of the base accurate range. This mod has no actual effect on projectile weapons.
	Recoil	Reduces base recoil by 10% per upgrade, up to a total reduction of 50% with 5 upgrades.
Weapon Features
	Laser	Adds a laser sight that can be toggled. The laser sight provides perfect accuracy to hitscan weapons (unless a scope has been installed).
	Scope	Adds a scope that can be toggled. When firing unscoped, hitscan weapons incur an accuracy penalty and lose the accuracy benefits of the laser.
	Silencer	Fully eliminates the firing noise of the weapon.
