Weapons: Pistol is a weapon skill in Deus Ex that increases the effectiveness of pistols. Like all skills, this skill can be leveled up by spending skill points.

Standard weapon skill bonuses
- Accuracy
- From untrained to master: +0%, +5%, +12.5%, and +25% increase in accuracy.
- Damage
- From untrained to master: +0, +20%, +50%, and +100% increase in damage.
- In the inventory interface, this bonus is incorrectly displayed as half of its actual value.
- Recoil
- From untrained to master: -0, -0.2, -0.5, and -1 reduction in recoil.
- Reload time
- From untrained to master: 0, 10%, 25%, and 50% reduction of the duration of the middle portion of the reload animation.
- This bonus is not displayed in the inventory interface.

- When starting a new game, if the pistol skill is initially downgraded from trained to untrained (so as to return 1575 skill points back to the initial skill points pool), the pistol skill will automatically be set to "trained" at the start of gameplay at the cost of no skill points.
- In order to start the pistol skill at untrained, it is necessary to use console commands.
